Los Angeles actor/writer, Tim Coyne, interviews Neil Strauss (coauthor of Jenna Jameson’s “How to Make Love Like a Porn Star”, Motley Crue’s “The Dirt”, and Marilyn Manson’s “The Long Hard Road Out of Hell”) about his new book, “The Game – Penetrating the Secret Society of Pickup Artists”. i found this book very interesting its hard to believe its all true!
i hope i do not come across a ppickup artist anytime soon!
hi dana. you’re probably coming across this more than you realize. yikes! but i don’t think there’s necessarily a bad agenda at play. for the most part, i think guys are just trying to find a comfortable way to talk to women. it ain’t easy.
fair enough…although in neil’s book he talks of stealing women away from their boyfriends sometimes husbands. cant they talk to women who are blantently single?
good point. there’s always going to be a few dirtbags.

I actually used to get David Deangelo’s CD’s interviews and his shit is the best….. really made me see some of my mistakes in the past when talking to women. I recommend any guy who has trouble with the ladies to check this stuff out. I’ll check out this book.
Believe it or not women are like puzzle, but not impossible… If you read David DeAngelo books, and his CDs of mistery he will explain detail by detail what really women are, but it won’t work if you don’t take his technique out there. What I mean is that everything that Dave DeAngelo says really work, but in order to work you really need to take it to the outside world to see it work….. In my opinion I believe that you won’t talk to women because of your inner wuss, but once you read Dave book or Neil Strauss book everything will come clear to you, but you are going to have to practice to overcome every possible success. No matter what you do or what ever book you read won’t help you if you don’t take those information in practice into the real world. Some people have problem approaching women because they don’t know what to say. Here is something for you my friend! When you see a women you like, and you wish to talk to her just make eyes contact with her, and at the same time look at her from top to toe without letting her know you are doing that…”are just do that before even making eyes contact. I’m telling you to look at her from top to toe because I want you to find something about her to talk about… Like for example, if she have a pair of new sneaker.. make a funny and cocky comment on it” Dave DeAngelo material”. Says something like, “Wow nice sneaker I bet they looked better when they were new.” Hey cocky and funny… Go in read Dave Deangelo book and all his material….. after you read his info go to the outside in practice everything he says…. Good Luck….
Hey, guys… These tactics are really about learning better social acuity for most guys. The “pickup artist” mentality is that there is a certain cleverness and social techniques that can be used to get past a lot of the resistance women have to men.
What I teach is that men need only be heading somewhere with a purpose and passion – AND cultivate some improvements in their social skills to do better in every area, including women.
I was interviewed by David DeAngelo some time ago.
It all starts with INNER game…

I can’t help but feel lame for not seeing the PUA show on vh1 sooner… unfortunately being in college kinda puts a damper on the wallet. I read the book and was amazed at how much more I could have been doing with the game I started with before getting to know all of this was out there… Not being cocky but I don’t think I started out too bad with the looks part… {crockettskid@hotmail.com myspace name- Heathen/ in Billings MT} But the one part that I don’t understand in the book is that how did mysterie end up in the looney bin and now have a tv show.. Don’t get me wrong I don’t mind seeing his pretty face up on the tv…. but what the hell happened???
~Heather~
Good question Heather. I have no idea.

I believe that Mystery has a bipolar disorder (Mood swings, getting really angry/sad or happy) and it has been proven that people with bipolar disorders are very creative and intelligent as obviously Mystery is. Kurt Cobain had bipolar disorder, he was a great musician but ended up killing himself. All this is good stuff and u can’t just read the books, watch the videos and listen to the audiocourses and expect to be good at it. Like everything, it requires a great deal of practice. The PUA business gives a great insight into the mind of a woman and I truly believe that it will change your life. It takes some time over 1-2 years to study all the material along with practice to reach perfection. Here are some of my favourite PUAs that I have learnt from and I am still learning. I have been learning for about 4 months and I already see a big change in all of my interactions with men and women. I have also gained a lot of confidence with the help of some hypnosis techniques and recently I have been more succesful at everything. One last thing I would like to emphasise is that the PUA stuff does not just teach you how to pick up woman but it teaches you how to be a complete person. The perfect pick up artist isnt one who can seduce or manipulate women, its the one who has a moral and ethical sense and is able to attract & seduce as well as enjoy it. Here are some of my favourite PUAs in order and I suggest anyone who wants to learn to learn through them.
Neil Strauss – Style
Erik Von Markovich – Mystery
Wayne Elise – Juggler
Swingcat
Hypnosis
Ross Jeffries
David Deangelo
Tuler Durden has some good ideas but they are mostly to do with making other guys look bad and tooling people which I find unethical. Although they are fair if used when provoked.
Raul – Beginer PUA (still an AFC though).
Can I Download the podcast now?
@ Raul – define perfection? I cen most certainly tell you that achieving the externally validated success levels you use as measurement of “perfection” can be achieved in less than 2 weeks. It’s all about defining the desired outcomes, and then planning.
I have been in this community since 1999, and I have been part of some very interesting social circles and community boards. An interesting fact is that I never read “The Game” by Neil Strauss, I read every field report that he eventually put in his book, so what was the point in buying that book?
I believe that most guys venture into the PUA community with the perception that success means getting laid frequently – only a few learn that success means taking action towards getting laid. There’s a subtle difference, and I completely agree with you – and applaud you – for learning that the PUA mindset at it’s core is NOT about success with women. It’s about achieving your dream goals, and it’s a great context to explore and expand your limiting beliefs towards that end.
The concept “master PUA” no longer exists, thank the heavens! Back in the good old days, when we were all hailed as mPUA’s, … we were tributed for our external results with women. Now newcomers to this community achieve that same level of external success in no time.
Like Carlos says, it all starts with inner game, … and I might add that a master pickup artist is a guy that consistently improves and experiences internal success in his life.
