Wow, there are a lot of people rooting for you, and for the right outcome for your life!! You’ve gotten lots of good advice from some people who clearly have a lot of life experience – I don’t necessarily think you share your life with us so that we can tell you how to live it, but human nature compels us to share our experiences, so here’s mine – of course, I’m a chick, so I’m always going to root for the fairy tale ending, but I’m learning to embrace the other kind too . . . I always strive to remember that the right outcome for my life might not be part of the script I have pictured in my head – be open to whatever it is, cause there is something to learn no matter what –

That was a very powerful podcast because the stakes are so high for you personally. What makes it work is that you take us right into the heart of the relationship. Literally recording while in the midst of confusion. This makes for a great podcast, but maybe not the best for a new and fragile relationship.

No matter what happens next, “this too will pass.”

Man . . take it back to the four months when you just didn’t care –but you did– and just let things happen. The message is just too ambiguous to mean anything at this momment and when things are tense we (humans) have a way of twisting everything. It is good that you stuck your ground and things will happen when they are meant to happen . . . its just hard sometimes to be able to let go . . . it sounds like a lot of us are here for you man!

I am not riding a high white horse here, but we use the philosophy of “Say what you mean, mean what you say”. This relieves alot of doubts about what was said. And when there is doubt or confusion, always ASK! Believe it or not, in our 3 year relationship, two years living together, there have been no fights or arguments. Yes there are disagreements at times, but we know where each other stands, and we respect each others opinion.

If it feels right, hang in there it will be worth it. If it doesn’t feel right, get out, it’s not worth it.

DISCLAIMER: We both had to endure horrific 14 year marriages to get to this point. And we did not meet via eHarmony or via any other matching service, we met the traditional way, in a bar!

I’m hearing fear and suspicion. Cut them loose, they are your enemy. When someone you love says something and you don’t know how to take it, assume the best, not the worst. I heard the “Two Months Bitch” and thought she was being funny and saying “We are at the two month mark”. You made the huge leap of “OMG, is she breaking up with me???” See what I mean? I assumed something good, you thought it might mean something horrible. She’s just going to get offended that you thought she would do something that mean.

Trust goes such a long way. WRT her place, when she is ready, she’ll invite you in. Ignore your friends and wait. Don’t push. It’s not important. Let her give what she can, when she can. Don’t worry about roles, about who’s supposed to do what and when it’s supposed to be done.

Oh, and borrow a tent and go camping. It’s cheaper than a hotel room and can be very romantic. At least think about it. (See, I can be touchy feely AND practical)
