damn you, tim. another 40 minutes i procrastinated! (i say that with irony. tongue-in-cheek. please forgive me.)

this took me back to my commercial-doin’ days. commerical auditions suck. I was once called back to be the “midwestern wife” of a “woodsman in wisconsin.” believe me, i look the part. who did they hire? a blond, big-boobed, hipster with chunky glasses and a preppy turtleneck.

wistful and entertaining. really enjoyed it. keep up the good work.

Good God i love this podcast. I stumbled upon this episode today as I was desperatley late for a crappy ford commercial and looking for a f—ing meter on the westside. When I found one it didn’t take the only quarters I had. I found another one with 8 minutes on it. thinking maybe I’ll get out in time. This audition has now cost me $45. But I am greatful for your podcast.

Once upon a time, I was the PA that had to video tape many of those auditions.

In between some of the auditions, the director, producers, ad execs, etc would come up with really humiliating stuff for the poor actors to do. I really dispised them. Not all were like this, but one company I worked for seemed to corner the market in dicks.

they would giggle with themselves like children, come up with something really annoying for the poor actor to do, then call in the poor bastard.

as a PA making 9 bucks an hour way back then, I had to swallow it all down, grin and bare it and be that working drone they hired me to be.

there is so much wrong in the trenches of hollywood.

Ahh… nice work on the podcast man.. Was a change of luck for the old lady, it was that emotion chord she must of struck with everyone that made them remember her.. maybe even feel sorry for her that most likely got her that part.

Hoping to see you in film someday.. don’t give up.. for me the trip hasn’t even begun yet and you are still there on the ride.. living the dream. Don’t forget that. Soon you’ll have another friend there in LA to hang out with.
